Tesla’s Cybercab has been deployed, and it’s already under investigation

Tesla’s Cybercab, a two-seat vehicle without a steering wheel or brake pedals, has begun public rides in two states and is already under federal investigation for compliance with safety standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is revising eight rules, such as those requiring brake pedals, windshield wipers, and rearview mirrors, to facilitate driverless car deployment. Tesla plans to expand the Cybercab fleet on its Robotaxi ride-hail network across Texas and Florida.
