This geneticist’s age-reversal tech could help restore sight

Yuancheng Lu, a Harvard-trained geneticist, used a trimmed OSK reprogramming gene therapy to regenerate crushed optic nerves in mice, restoring vision within weeks. The same therapy, now named ER-100, entered human trials in June when Life Biosciences injected it into a glaucoma patient’s eye. Lu’s approach omits the oncogenic Myc gene, aiming for safe age-reversal without full stem-cell conversion.
