This study looks at how and with whom connected cars share your data

Researchers from Northeastern University and Consumer Reports measured traffic from 21 cars of 19 brands, finding that vehicles routinely send data to advertisers, trackers, and Big Tech firms such as Microsoft and Adobe. The study also showed that using a car’s companion app increases data exposure, and that disabling cellular signals by parking electric cars in a Faraday cage shifts traffic to Wi-Fi without revealing packet contents.
