TikTok agrees to pay at least $100M in Alabama settlement

TikTok will pay Alabama at least $100 million, with a possible total of $300 million depending on conditions, after allegations that the platform misled users about safety and was designed to addict children. The settlement requires TikTok to impose a two-hour daily limit for underage users, add parental controls, restrict overnight use, and remove cosmetic filters. The agreement follows a $400 million DOJ settlement over child privacy violations.
