Tim Draper, the SpaceX and Tesla investor, is selling his $7.9M private island in Tanzania

Tim Draper announced on X that he is selling his private island on Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania, for $7.9 million or best offer, handling negotiations himself. The island lies on the world’s longest freshwater lake, the second-deepest after Baikal. Draper, an early investor in SpaceX and Tesla, bought 30,000 bitcoin in 2014 for about $19 million, making the island price far lower than that gain. The ECB reported EU venture-capital funds total €150 billion versus roughly $930 billion in the United States, a six-fold difference.
