Tiny falcons are helping keep the food supply safe on cherry farms

American kestrels help cherry farmers by hunting pests and reducing crop damage. The birds also lower the risk of food-borne illnesses by eating and scaring off small birds that carry pathogens. This results in an 81% reduction in crop damage and a 66% decrease in contaminated branches.
