Tom Watson joins Palantir as its £330M NHS contract heads for a break clause

Former Labour deputy leader Tom Watson is Palantir’s senior vice president, tasked with correcting misinformation and addressing privacy, security, and sovereignty concerns. Palantir’s £330 million NHS Federated Data Platform contract is under government review with a February 2027 break clause. The company is contesting a £50 million Metropolitan Police contract blocked by the Mayor of London. Watson’s appointment follows criticism that Palantir’s work for US ICE and the Israel Defense Forces should disqualify it from NHS and public-service contracts.
