A trailer for the Golden Axe animated series is full of self-referencing jokes

The Golden Axe animated series, set to stream on Paramount+ on September 16, follows heroes Tyris, Gilius, and Ax Battler as they battle the villain Death Adder in the kingdom of Yuria. The 10-episode debut features self-referential jokes, a nod to the game’s character-select screen, and voice actors Liam McIntyre, Lisa Gilroy, Matthew Rhys, and Danny Pudi. The show is created by Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler.
