Trump admin shelves Cyclospora research despite record-breaking outbreak

The USDA’s three Cyclospora research programs, which handle virtually all federal work on the parasite, have been defunded, and the remaining program is losing its staff as the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center closes. The center’s relocation to Iowa will not retain any of the current Cyclospora scientists, who are retiring, reassigned, or exiting USDA research.
