Trump says refusing a data centre is a mistake. Abbott disagrees

Texas Governor Greg Abbott blamed the data-center backlash on rapid construction and developers failing to win local support, ordering regulators to audit grid-connection requests and urging companies to cover full electricity infrastructure costs. President Trump countered, saying communities that reject data centres miss “tremendous jobs and money,” noting many facilities build their own power plants and that the federal administration has relaxed environmental rules while pushing operators to fund their own electricity use.
