Uber beats Waymo as first to launch robotaxis in London

Uber launched the first commercial robotaxi service in London, using autonomous technology from UK startup Wayve and initially deploying safety drivers. The service marks Uber’s first UK robotaxi launch after years of planning and positions the company to set the standard for driverless ride-hailing in the city. The rollout tests demand for driverless transport outside the US and China.
