Uber launches first robotaxis in London (with human supervisors)

Uber has begun operating autonomous rides in London through a partnership with Wayve, deploying Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with Wayve’s self-driving system. Riders requesting UberX, Uber Comfort or Uber Electric can be matched with these robotaxis, which carry a human supervisor in the front seat as required by the city’s new AV license. Prices match traditional Uber rates, and passengers can tip via Trip History, but no tip prompt appears for the supervised AVs.
