Uber’s first European AV rides go live in Zagreb, with a safety driver

Uber launched autonomous rides in Zagreb, letting users book Pony.ai’s Gen-7 robotaxi through the Uber app while a licensed safety driver monitors each trip. Verne supplies and operates the fleet, and the three-way partnership aims to expand the service to other European cities as it moves toward fully driverless operation.
