Uefa pursuing criminal legal action against Infantino
UEFA filed a criminal application in Switzerland against FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The case alleges Infantino’s aborted plan to sell stakes in FIFA competitions to private investors was criminal mismanagement. The proposed $4.2 bn sale would have undervalued FIFA’s commercial arm at roughly $20 bn, a figure not independently verified and offered without an open auction. UEFA seeks access to Florida-based FIFA entities’ files to support its charges and may pursue similar action against other FIFA officials.
