The upside of a laptop having two charging ports (and why some don't)

Dual USB-C charging ports let a laptop be powered while simultaneously driving peripherals such as monitors, external drives, or docking stations, eliminating the need for extra adapters and providing placement flexibility. Most mid-range and premium models—Apple MacBooks, Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 series, Asus Zenbook, and ROG Zephyrus—already include two or more USB-C ports, often with Thunderbolt 4/5 support, while single-port designs persist mainly due to added cost and engineering complexity.
