US diesel prices hit a record high of $5.85 on average
Diesel hit a record $5.85 per gallon, the highest U.S. average ever, as the six-month U.S.–Iran conflict disrupts global fuel flow and pushes Brent crude above $95 a barrel. The surge, up from $3.76 before the war, raises transportation costs for groceries, perishables, clothing, cosmetics and other goods, while regular gasoline averages $4.15 per gallon.
