US seizes domains of Chinese botnet used to hack NASA, Justice Department, and the Senate

The FBI seized domains that comprised the QTFY botnet’s command-and-control infrastructure, which Chinese firm Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Tech operated for state-sponsored hackers. The botnet, controlling thousands of compromised devices since 2018, infiltrated U.S. hospitals, defense contractors, the Federal Reserve, NASA, the Energy, Justice, Health and Human Services departments, and the Senate through 2026. Cutting off its hard-coded communication channels rendered the botnet inoperable.
