Usbsid-Pico: Bridging Real Commodore 64 Sound to Modern USB
USBSID-Pico is an open-source board built around the Raspberry Pi Pico (rp2040/rp2350) that connects up to two real MOS 6581/8580 SID chips to modern devices via USB (CDC/WebUSB/WebSerial), MIDI, and ASID, with future Wi-Fi/Bluetooth support. The project evolved from early SIDPod prototypes, added SD-card storage, incorporated ESP32-SIDView concepts, and culminated in a tidy PCB that replaces FTDI-based designs, enabling authentic SID sound playback on contemporary workstations and media players.
