Virginia governor creates an AI task force and moves to restrain data centers

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger issued Executive Order 22, banning executive officials from signing non-disclosure agreements for data-center projects and requiring expedited noise-regulation reviews. The order also mandates a review of backup-generation operations used by data centers. An AI task force is established to assess risks to Virginians from emerging technologies.
