Volkswagen plans 50,000 more job cuts, taking the total to 100,000

Volkswagen’s supervisory board voted unanimously to cut an additional 50,000 jobs, raising the total planned workforce reduction to 100,000. The decision leaves four German plants without guaranteed production between 2031 and 2034, while the board includes half-representatives of employees and Lower Saxony, which holds 20% of voting rights under the 1960 Volkswagen Law.
