Volvo’s electric cars can now warn you about a deer around a blind corner

Volvo’s EX60, EX90 and ES90 receive a software update that adds four new hazard alerts—large animals, pedestrians and cyclists, roadworks, and accidents ahead—via the Data for Road Safety ecosystem shared with BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, HERE, TomTom, NIRA Dynamics and eight EU road authorities. The update expands the existing Slippery Road and Hazard Light alerts, which have been operating across Europe since a pilot in Sweden and Norway and a continent-wide rollout in 2019.
