Walmart is accepting tap to pay after eleven years of refusing

Walmart will start accepting contactless payments—eligible cards, phones and smartwatches—at select stores and Sam’s Club locations on August 24. All U.S. Walmart sites will support tap-to-pay by the end of 2026, with fuel stations added by mid-2027. The rollout includes Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Wallet.
