Walmart is finally adding Apple Pay and Google Pay

Walmart will introduce tap-to-pay with Apple Pay and Google Pay at select Walmart and Sam’s Club stores beginning August 24, expanding to all U.S. locations by the end of 2026 and to its gas stations by mid-2027. The move follows earlier attempts with the short-lived CurrentC service and the 2016 launch of Walmart Pay, which uses QR-code checkout.
