Walmart to finally start accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay

Walmart announced that, starting August 24, select Walmart and Sam’s Club stores will accept Apple Pay and Google Pay via Tap-to-Pay, with full rollout to all locations by year-end and to fuel stations by mid-2027. The move ends Walmart’s long-standing reliance on its own payment apps after a failed 2016 attempt with the CurrentC system.
