Waymo accelerates robotaxi expansion with launches in Denver, San Diego and Tampa

Waymo’s robotaxi service now operates publicly in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa, raising its commercial presence to 14 U.S. cities and a fleet exceeding 4,000 vehicles. The fleet includes Jaguar I-Pace hatchbacks and the Zeekr-built Ojai minivan, the latter equipped with Waymo’s sixth-generation self-driving system and deployed exclusively in Denver and San Diego with about 300 units. The rollout follows Waymo’s standard process of mapping, testing, removing safety operators, and incrementally offering rides to paying customers as local permits are granted.
