Waymo built its own robotaxi chip and published its supplier list

Waymo disclosed its robotaxi’s onboard computer architecture, revealing a custom 5 nm application-specific integrated circuit that preprocesses lidar, radar and camera data, performs temporal denoising, and delivers over 1,000 TOPS of ML performance for front-end perception. The system integrates this ASIC with CPUs, GPUs and accelerators from Nvidia, AMD, Micron, Samsung, Sandisk, Socionext and TSMC, and is built to meet latency, ruggedisation and redundant-engine requirements across its 4,000-vehicle fleet.
