We’ve spent billions defending software. It’s time to protect execution

Billions of dollars are spent securing software, yet processors still execute every instruction without scrutiny. Embedded systems in cars, medical devices, industrial controllers, network gear, and critical infrastructure lack an independent execution-monitoring layer. Adding such a layer would enable real-time observation of processor activity to improve security.
