What are the downsides of a mini PC?

Mini PCs sacrifice upgradeability because CPUs and GPUs are often soldered to the motherboard, limiting users to swapping only SSDs or SO-DIMM RAM, and many models lack additional slots or ports for expansion. Their compact chassis restricts airflow, causing higher temperatures and noise under sustained loads, so even high-end units cannot match the sustained performance of desktop PCs with larger cooling solutions.
