What is IMAX Enhanced and do you really need it?

IMAX Enhanced is a home-viewing certification that remasters content for higher image quality and a taller 1.90:1 aspect ratio, reducing black bars on 16:9 TVs. It also supports HDR and DTS:X spatial audio, though the actual benefit depends on the user’s hardware. The label appears on select Disney+ titles and some 4K Blu-ray releases, but not all high-resolution versions carry it.
