What makes IMAX theaters different from normal ones?

IMAX screens have 1:90:1 or 1:43:1 aspect ratios, up to 59 ft tall and 79 ft wide for 70 mm. Filmmakers must adjust lenses, lighting, and sound for IMAX. IMAX supplies software and remastering tools for both IMAX and non-IMAX releases. Higher resolution and immersive sound justify premium ticket prices.
