What was the PSX? The souped-up PS2 rarely sold outside of Japan

The Sony PSX, released in Japan in December 2003, combined a PlayStation 2 console with a DVR, DVD burner, TV tuner and hard drive (160 GB or 250 GB) and later added broadband support. Despite selling 100 000 units its first week, high pricing (¥79,800–¥99,800) and internal development conflicts caused sales to plummet, leading Sony to discontinue the product by early 2005.
