WhatsApp is upgrading its 2FA settings

WhatsApp’s two-step verification now requires an alphanumeric password of at least eight characters, including a number and a letter, replacing the six-digit PIN used since 2017. The app also lets users add multiple passkeys across Android and iOS devices via Account > Passkeys. Additionally, Android callers from unknown numbers will see the caller’s country and any shared group chats to help identify potential spam.
