When AI designs a drug, who gets the credit?

Insilico Medicine’s AI generated a pulmonary-fibrosis drug, but its U.S. patent lists only five humans, including CEO Alex Zhavoronkov, as inventors, reflecting current law that only individuals can be named inventors. A 2022 U.S. appeals court ruled that “inventor” must be an individual, excluding AI.
