AI-generated food images are flooding menus, producing grotesque visuals such as donut-shaped shrimp, deep-sea Reubens, worm-like noodles, pastry-like noodles, stringy chicken, construction-material ice cream, brain-styled ice cream, a malformed burger, a trypophobic burrito, and other lump-filled, hole-riddled creations. The proliferation of these unsettling renders highlights the shortcomings of diffusion models when applied to culinary marketing.
