Why it matters that President Trump just dialed into a NASA news conference

NASA held a post-launch news conference for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope at Kennedy Space Center, detailing the telescope’s initial maneuvers. During the session, Administrator Jared Isaacman briefly left the dais, returned with President Trump’s phone, and announced the President’s congratulations to the mission team. The interruption occurred while Chief of Science Nicky Fox was speaking.
