Why you should change what apps open on startup for Windows

Running unnecessary programs at Windows startup slows boot time and consumes resources, so regularly reviewing and disabling them improves performance. Use Task Manager’s Startup tab (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and the user and common Startup folders (shell:startup, shell:common startup) to remove or disable unwanted shortcuts, while keeping only essential or frequently used apps.
