Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA

U.S. staff at the Wikimedia Foundation voted overwhelmingly to join the Communications Workers of America’s Local 9415, forming the first legally recognized bargaining unit for the organization. The win follows a July card-signing drive and a National Labor Relations Board-overseen election after management initially declined to acknowledge union representation. Volunteers contributed over 15 million edits and signed a record-breaking petition supporting the workers’ right to collective bargaining.
