World humanoid robot games show runners breaking records, bursting into flames

Robots at the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing (August 22-26) sprinted faster than Usain Bolt’s 100-meter record, but many could not stop, colliding with barriers, breaking at the waist and igniting. The event also featured kung-fu, dance, kickboxing, soccer, table-tennis, and practical tasks such as washing and hanging laundry, where robots lagged behind human speeds.
