World’s first enhanced geothermal power plant completed in just 23 months

Fervo Energy’s Cape Station, a 100-MW enhanced geothermal plant, began selling power on September 30, 23 months after groundbreaking. The site can expand to 4 GW, with future blocks planned in 18 months to serve data-center demand. Fervo raised $1.3 billion, went public in May with a $1.9 billion IPO, and secured power purchases from Google, Southern California Edison and others.
