Xiaomi unveils custom 3nm chip for intelligent driving

Xiaomi unveiled the Xring D100, a 3 nm in-house chip with a 20-core CPU, 16-core NPU and up to 160 GB unified memory, capable of running a 200-billion-parameter model in its vehicles and slated to replace Nvidia Drive hardware from 2027. The firm has spent over 21 billion yuan (≈$3.1 billion) on development, assembled a chip team of nearly 3,000 engineers, and simultaneously launched the O100 accelerator and the O3 mobile processor, both fabricated by TSMC on the same 3 nm process.
