XPENG’s robotics arm has raised more than $900M ahead of its humanoid production run

XPENG Robotics secured more than $900 million to mass-produce its IRON humanoid, which has over 60 joints, a five-degree-of-freedom spine, bionic-muscle fascia, and runs on the company’s Turing chips. The seventh-generation prototype will serve as showroom assistants, campus patrols and factory workers, with commercial deliveries beginning in 2027 and a goal of one million units per year by 2030. He Xiaopeng projects robot prices will reach car-price levels within five years, with software accounting for over half of the value at launch.
