Zillow and Redfin settle FTC antitrust case over their rental listings partnership
The FTC and Zillow settled a case alleging that a 2025 partnership with Redfin violated antitrust law by having Zillow pay Redfin to syndicate listings while Redfin halted its own advertising and pledged not to compete for multifamily rentals. Under the settlement, Redfin may continue syndicating Zillow’s rental listings without the prior restraints, and it must revive its own rental advertising business that it had discontinued as part of the agreement.
